Holistic Medicine is Ideal in Treating Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue is one of the most common complaints heard in the clinic. Unfortunately, many people with chronic fatigue have gone to their primary physicians, had numerous tests run, only to be told that there is nothing wrong with them.

From the perspective of holistic medicine, disease usually begins on the energetic level, with vague symptoms like fatigue, poor concentration, intermittent depression, and muscle pain or weakness, for example. Patient M came to my office complaining of fatigue. Eight weeks earlier she had been treated for flu, felt better for a short period, but then began losing energy again, with generalized body aches, hoarse throat, pressure on her chest, and general unwellness.

Her job exposed her to whatever cold or flu was going around, which often progressed into bronchitis that lingered. Formerly a very active person, she now didn't have the energy to walk her kids one block to school and required a daily nap just to function.
